Hey yall, I'm Courtney. I live in a beautful little place called Texas. I'm out here in the country, where the air is clean and the sun always seems to shine. I'm Southern born and raised.

I've been schooling at home since I was 7. I basically teach myself. I don't like calling it home school because it's not anything like public school. Don't give me lip about home schooling people being anti-social and weird. You're obviously ignorant if you belive that. I'm a nice, friendly person. Give me a chance and I make a good friend. I listen good and like to talk.
I'm not afraid of hard work, and I like a good challenge. I've been dancing, drawing, and writing for many years now. My studies and dance classes are hard, but I try hard to never give up. I take my education and my friends seriously.
I live for myself, my family, and for art. Those are the most important things to me. I love life and I love meeting new people. Don't be shy!

20 Lovely Tradtional Pieces (YOURS may be here!)

Sun Nov 8, 2009, 11:13 PM
On a whim, I decided to feature some of my favorite traditional pieces here on the DA! Since I don't have a subscription, I'm going to have to do this the old fashioned way. I hope you all take a look at these beauties. YOUR'S just might be featured here!! :D So dive into art and enjoy yourself. ,)

=================================
"Black Hole Son" by No-Contact
[link]

I was drawn to this piece because of it's references to Soundgarden and Nirvana, two grunge bands I love to listen to.
I've never seen anything quite like this before. The guy in the drawing looks like a skinnier version of Kurt Cobain. If you look closely you'll see his shirt reads "Bomb the Outside", which sure makes me think of Soundgarden's song, "Blow Up the Outside World". And in the sky, you'll also see the words "Wash it Away", lyrics from Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun". Another interesting thing about the drawing is its title. Instead of 'sun', it is 'son'. I like to think that the author was putting a little twist on the song title.

"Koi" by Redhag
[link]

This painting is so rich with originality and beauty, just sit back and savor all the intricate details. :heart: One of the most creative and unforgettable paintings I've ever seen.

=================================
"Your Desk is My Desk" by ihopeyougetoutalive
[link]

This is one of those pieces that stands out in my memory of all my faves. It is very emotional - and it hits me in a soft spot. I believe art is about the meaning behind a piece and the effort put into it, and this drawing is a great example of just that.

=================================
"Mermaid's Comb" by Taurina
[link]

This piece is a stunning work of art I can really sink my eyes into. The color palette really draws you in: soft, cool shades, neutrals, and stark black. The attention paid to proportion, line, and detail makes this drawing a must see for any fellow artist!!

=================================
"Soundgarden" by forgotton-mistake
[link]

Just about everyone seems to favor this drawing. ,)

=================================
"Premonition" by Retro-Grade1
[link]

This painting is very special in a sense that the both the subject and the feeling I get from it are unique.
In this painting I see a young man about to do a very dangerous thing, and that he feels uncertain and he receives a premonition of dark times to come. His face is hidden from sight-all we can see is his hand pulling down the shield on his motorcycle helmet. The realistic use of color and great attention to shape make this paiting really stand out.

=================================
"El Violin" by faboarts

So peaceful...I can almost hear the violin :heart: The artist's style is very cute and unique.

=================================

This drawing is full of so many shapes and hidden pictures, you will amuse yourself finding them all! Shading, coloring, and lines are obviously a mastered skill for this artist. A MUST VIEW

This piece is rich in life and detail. My ultimate favorite from this artist, this piece stands out as a masterpiece. I am amazed at how real the scene and woman appear!

=================================
"Jelly Curl Little Pony" by Woosie
[link]

Ever seen a My Little Pony this dang adorable? I doubt it. This artist makes ordinary ponies awesome with her great skills in rerooting, painting, and molding. I am ever so fond of this pony because of the reference to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. :heart:

=================================
"Chris" by Jesterofchaos

This portrait of the former Soundgarden singer is so life-like, it's mind-boggling O_o

=================================
